Job Description:
Staff Accountant II Our client, a growing real estate investment and development firm, is seeking a Staff Accountant II to join its Finance & Accounting team. This position offers the opportunity to work directly with senior accounting leadership while supporting a diverse portfolio of real estate investments, operating entities, and property holdings. The ideal candidate will possess strong general ledger accounting experience, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and post journal entries across multiple entities
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes
  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements and management reports
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and support cash management activities
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Support investor reporting and property-level financial reporting
  • Coordinate with property management and operations teams on accounting matters
  • Assist with audit, tax, and compliance-related requests
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
  • Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close
  • Multi-entity accounting experience preferred
  • Real estate, property management, private equity, or investment industry experience preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
  • CPA designation or CPA candidacy is a plus
  • Experience with Yardi, MRI, AppFolio, QuickBooks, or similar accounting systems preferred This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional seeking long-term growth within a dynamic and entrepreneurial organization.
