Company Overview:
Our Miami client is a growing real estate company in expanding into the South Florida market. They are looking for a Staff Accountant. They have different business lines and are continuing to acquire more opportunities. Position Overview The Staff Accountant will utilize Excel strongly and will play a key role in managing the company's financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. This position involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to support financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and proactive in identifying process improvements. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Responsibilities Financial Reporting:
Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Excel usage : must be strong with Excel functions
General Ledger Management:
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, review and post journal entries, and monitor transactions for completeness and accuracy.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
Oversee AP/AR processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, vendor payments, and customer collections.
Month-end and Year-end Close:
Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, coordinating with other teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Collaborate with the finance team to develop annual budgets and forecasts, monitor performance, and provide variance analysis.
Financial Analysis:
Conduct detailed financial analysis to support decision-making, identifying trends and opportunities for cost optimization.
Tax Compliance:
Assist in preparing tax returns and support audits, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and liaising with external advisors as needed. Required Experience/Skills Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting. Strong with Excel Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance. Proficiency in full-cycle accounting, including financial reporting and month-end close. Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software. Preferred Experience/Skills Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Highly organized with strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills. Experience in the consumer services industry is a plus. Education Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required. CPA certification or progress toward CPA is a plus. Continuing education in accounting or finance preferred. Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance standards. Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
