Financial Controller Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounting Specialist with experience in international banking, payment processing, and accounting operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of domestic and international wire transfers, including IBAN, BIC, SWIFT, intermediary banking requirements, foreign currency transactions, and international compliance standards. This role will be responsible for processing vendor payments, executing international bank transfers, performing bank reconciliations, supporting accounts receivable functions, and assisting with daily accounting operations. Experience in the yachting industry and proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop are strongly preferred. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Treasury & Payment Processing Process domestic ACH, wire transfers, and international payments accurately and timely. Review and validate banking instructions, including: IBAN numbers
SWIFT/BIC
codes Routing numbers Intermediary bank details Beneficiary banking information Coordinate with vendors, yacht captains, management companies, and financial institutions to resolve payment issues. Monitor payment status and investigate rejected, returned, or delayed transactions. Maintain banking records and vendor payment documentation. Assist with cash management and daily treasury activities. Bank Reconciliations Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations. Investigate and resolve reconciling items promptly. Reconcile multiple bank accounts across domestic and international financial institutions. Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures. Accounts Receivable Support Record customer payments and deposits. Apply payments accurately to outstanding invoices. Assist with collections and customer account inquiries. Monitor aging reports and communicate outstanding balances as needed. Support AR reporting and account reconciliations. Accounting Operations Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks. Assist with general ledger account reconciliations. Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls. Assist with special projects and other accounting duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Minimum 2-3 years of accounting, treasury, or payment processing experience. Experience processing domestic and international wire transfers.
Working knowledge of:
IBAN SWIFT BIC
Foreign currency transactions International banking requirements Strong bank reconciliation experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience. Experience in the yachting, maritime, luxury service, or yacht management industry. QuickBooks Desktop experience. Experience with multi-entity accounting environments. Familiarity with international vendors and foreign banking relationships. Understanding of yacht operating expenses, charter operations, and vessel accounting. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues independently. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information. Strong customer service mindset when working with vessel crews, vendors, and clients.
