In this role, you will be responsible for managing a wide range of accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and supporting the organization's financial health. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with various accounting software and financial systems, contributing to the smooth operation of our financial processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills, a keen eye for detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Duties Perform daily bookkeeping tasks including data entry, journal entries, and maintaining accurate records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Workday. Reconcile accounts on the general ledger, balance sheet, accounts payable, and accounts receivable to ensure financial accuracy. Manage payroll processing using systems like ADP, Paychex, Ceridian, or UltiPro while ensuring compliance with payroll regulations. Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, adhering to GAAP standards. Conduct account analysis and account reconciliation to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly. Assist with tax preparation and compliance by maintaining proper documentation of financial transactions and supporting schedules. Support internal controls such as SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance and participate in audits related to governmental or nonprofit accounting. Collaborate with teams on budgeting, financial reporting, and data analysis to support strategic decision-making. Maintain detailed records of transactions related to accounts payable/receivable, expense reports, and other financial activities. Ensure timely processing of payroll management tasks using Kronos or similar time-tracking systems. Experience Proven experience in corporate accounting or bookkeeping roles with a strong understanding of financial concepts such as debits & credits, journal entries, double-entry bookkeeping, and general ledger reconciliation. Familiarity with various accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Workday, ADP, Ceridian, Kronos or UltiPro is highly preferred. Knowledge of government or nonprofit accounting practices is a plus. Experience working with payroll management systems like Paychex or ADP is desirable. Strong understanding of GAAP standards and technical accounting principles necessary for accurate financial reporting. Prior exposure to public accounting environments or auditing processes is advantageous. Excellent math skills along with attention to detail for data entry and account analysis tasks. Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
