Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing a wide range of accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established standards. Your expertise will support the organization's financial health by maintaining precise records, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial statements. Responsibilities Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account analysis, and account reconciliation to ensure accurate financial reporting. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections. Conduct balance sheet reconciliations regularly to verify the accuracy of financial data. Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory standards. Oversee payroll management using software such as ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro, ensuring accurate processing of employee compensation and tax filings. Maintain compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and assist with internal audits related to financial processes. Utilize various accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, Kronos, Workday, and others for data entry, reporting, and analysis. Support governmental and non-profit accounting activities by adhering to specific regulations and reporting requirements. Assist with budget preparation, financial analysis, and tax-related tasks to support organizational planning. Ensure meticulous data entry with high accuracy using 10 key typing skills and double-entry bookkeeping techniques. Experience Proven experience in corporate accounting or governmental accounting environments demonstrating strong understanding of financial concepts. Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro or similar platforms is essential. Prior experience with payroll management systems like Paychex or UltiPro is highly desirable. Knowledge of GAAP standards along with experience in public accounting or non-profit accounting is preferred. Demonstrated ability to perform balance sheet reconciliation, account analysis, journal entries, and account reconciliation efficiently. Strong mathematical skills coupled with excellent attention to detail for accurate data entry and bookkeeping tasks. Experience working with financial software tools for budgeting, credit analysis, tax preparation, and financial reporting will be advantageous.
