  • Full-time Executive Summary We are currently looking for a sharp, autonomous Senior Commercial Property Accountant to serve as the ultimate financial architect for our client's commercial real estate portfolio.
Let's be clear: this isn't a traditional, heads-down bookkeeping or data-entry job. The day-to-day accounts payable, accounts receivable, and baseline ledger entries are handled by outsourced third-party property managers. Your role is to sit above that layer—acting as the high-level financial strategist, portfolio auditor, and executive storyteller. You will translate complex property numbers into investor-ready insights and ensure our third-party management teams are executing flawlessly. Primary Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day accounting operations for commercial real estate assets. Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes. Supervise general ledger activity, reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries. Review and analyze financial statements for accuracy and completeness. Manage CAM reconciliations, tenant billings, and expense recoveries. Interpret and apply commercial lease terms, including NNN and reimbursement structures. Coordinate annual budgets and assist with forecasting and variance analysis. Work closely with property managers, ownership, lenders, and external accountants. Support audits, refinancing efforts, and lender reporting requirements. Assist in improving accounting systems, internal controls, and operational efficiencies. Oversee third-party property management accounting and reporting where applicable. Mentor and support accounting staff as the company continues to grow. Maintain a deep, "big-picture" understanding of each asset's financial and operational performance to provide proactive insights to leadership.
