Job Description

Vaco has a great opportunity for a Staff Accountant to join a growing organization with career growth opportunity! This is a direct hire position that is 100% onsite. Position Summary Growing, multi-location organization is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its corporate accounting team. This role offers significant exposure to financial operations, process improvement initiatives, and strategic growth projects. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys both traditional accounting responsibilities and partnering with operational teams to drive business improvements. This position provides a unique opportunity to contribute to an evolving shared-services environment while gaining exposure to leadership and long-term career advancement opportunities. Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and assist with financial statement preparation.
  • Support accounting for capital projects, fixed assets, and related financial analysis.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
  • Partner with operational teams to gather information, analyze results, and support business initiatives.
  • Participate in process improvement efforts and accounting standardization projects.
  • Help support the ongoing centralization of accounting functions across multiple business locations.
  • Analyze financial data, identify trends, and recommend process enhancements.
  • Assist with special projects and ad hoc reporting as assigned. Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 2+ years of accounting experience preferred.
  • Public accounting experience is highly desirable.
  • CPA eligible or actively pursuing CPA preferred.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Experience with ERP systems; NetSuite experience is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact across multiple departments.
