Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Accountant to support the daily accounting operations and financial reporting functions of the organization. This role will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing reconciliations, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with general ledger accounting, financial analysis, and high-volume transaction environments. Core ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Financial Reporting Maintain and oversee the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and properly classified Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations Perform monthly bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of supporting schedules Prepare financial statements, variance analysis, and other management reports Review accounts payable and accounts receivable activities to ensure accuracy and timely processing Support payroll accounting entries and reconciliations Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting policies Support internal and external audits by preparing requested documentation and explanations Operational & Business Support Monitor expenses and identify discrepancies, unusual activity, or areas for improvement Collaborate with operations, HR, and finance teams to ensure data accuracy and process efficiency Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation for audit and tax purposes Recommend and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and strengthen controls Assist in system improvements and accounting software optimization Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles Experience with accounting systems such as QuickBooks, SAP, or similar ERP systems Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage high-volume transactions accurately Strong communication and teamwork skills Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting audits and financial analysis Previous experience in retail, distribution, logistics, or consumer goods industries Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
