(SCI), is part of a group of related entities under a parent company. SCI is a long-established Florida-based manufacturer and government contractor specializing in advanced composite structures for marine, defense, transportation, and infrastructure applications. We are seeking a detail-oriented accountant to support consolidated accounting operations across multiple companies under the parent entity. The ideal candidate will perform day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, compliance, and analysis for the parent company and its subsidiaries in a fast-paced environment with government contracting requirements. This is a full-time in-office position with an anticipated hire within 2-3 weeks of completion of interviews. Key Responsibilities General ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations for the parent company and multiple subsidiary entities. Prepare consolidated monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, supporting schedules, and intercompany eliminations. Assist with government contract accounting, cost allocation, and compliance with FAR/DFARS and other regulatory requirements. Support month-end and year-end close processes across entities, including accruals, journal entries, variance analysis, and consolidated reporting. Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax payments and related reports for the parent and subsidiaries. Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules for multiple companies. Assist with internal and external audits, including any DCAA-related matters. Ensure compliance with GAAP, Florida corporate requirements, and all applicable federal and state laws for consolidated entities. Collaborate with the finance team on budgeting, forecasting, intercompany transactions, and process improvements. Prepare reports needed for various purposes including operations meetings, board meetings and other requirements. Other tasks, responsibilities and projects assigned by management. Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required). 3-5 years of progressive corporate accounting experience, preferably with multi-entity or consolidated reporting (preferred). Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and intercompany accounting. Experience with government contracting accounting and related compliance is a plus. Proficiency in accounting software - QuickBooks - and advanced Excel skills. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment. Must be eligible to work in the United States and able to provide proof of U.S. citizenship upon hire (required due to nature of company contracts).
