Job Description

Senior Staff Accountant We are a thriving midsize company located in the heart of Miami, known for our commitment to excellence and fostering a dynamic work environment. As a forward-thinking organization, we are looking for a highly skilled Senior Staff Accountant to join our finance team and play a pivotal role in our growth journey. This position offers a unique opportunity for quick progression, with the potential to step into an Accounting Manager role in the near future. As a Senior Staff Accountant, you will be an integral part of our finance team, working closely with senior management to ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. Your role will encompass a range of responsibilities, including:
Financial Reporting:
Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards.
Month-End Close:
Oversee and execute month-end closing activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis.
General Ledger Management:
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
Internal Controls:
Collaborate with the Accounting Manager to develop and maintain strong internal controls, identifying areas for improvement.
Financial Analysis:
Assist in analyzing financial data, identifying trends, and providing insights to support strategic decision-making.
Tax Compliance:
Collaborate with external tax advisors to ensure accurate and timely tax filings.
Audit Preparation:
Prepare schedules and support documentation for external audits.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities to enhance financial processes, driving efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (Master's degree is a plus). Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or CPA Candidate actively pursuing certification. Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in accounting, preferably in a Big 4 or large regional CPA firm. Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements. Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
