Position Summary:
Reporting to the Head of Finance, ADF USA, the Accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts. The ideal candidate has also experience collaborating and/or managing a team, must be reliable, detail oriented and with strong Excel skills. Essential Functions Analyze the financial details of past, present, and forecasted operations to identify development opportunities. Complete Bank and Credit Card Reconciliations Post Payment Applications Complete month end reporting Complete budgets Direct and manage bookkeeper Analyze cost controls to ensure project profitability and delivery. Collect, analyze data and develop models & approaches to solve problems. Expertly lead ongoing analysis of systems, data, reporting and business process to identify improvements. Collaborate and assist in the financial planning, budgeting, procurement, or investment activities. Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and solutions to implement. Analyze and provide insight into investments for Complex Business Deals. Manage revenue streams and make recommendations to grow related business segments. Complete the preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets, or reports required by regulatory agencies. Develop and maintain relationships with organizational personnel for process improvements and system enhancements. Advise management on short-term and long-term financial objectives, policies, and actions. Ensure that generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and Internal Controls are maintained with changing Business environment. They will be responsible for communicating and tracking financial trends and making sound business recommendations. Provide direction and assistance to other organizational units regarding accounting and budgeting policies and procedures and efficient control and utilization of financial resources. Complete and maintain all tax, financial compliance and regulator reporting functions for ADF USA Inc. Supervisory Accountability Manages one direct report for ADF USA Inc, with cross functional relationship to ADF Direct reporting to Ateliers De France Group, CFO in Paris, France. Lead staff training and development in financial management areas. Accountable for performance reviews and performance management.
Education/Skills Required:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Working knowledge of Quickbooks online is essential Knowledge of Construction accounting is an asset Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is an asset. Bilingual proficiency in English and French is an asset Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. A proven record of excellence when managing, mentoring and improving a team of high-performing colleagues. The confidence to research and resolve emerging client issues, including regulations, industry practices and new technologies. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong supervisory and leadership skills. Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Thorough understanding of methods of systems analysis and the principles, design, and procedural methods used in computer and database development. Thorough understanding of project management. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Must be detail orientated, comfortable working with dimensions. Must be able to communicate effectively with team members. Valid U.S. work authorization Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime.
Experience Required:
Three (3) to five (5) years of professional experience as an accountant, auditor, or analyst OR valid Certified Public Accountant certificate with at least three years of professional experience as an accountant, auditor, or analyst.
Working Environment:
Working conditions include a shared office environment with frequent sitting and standing. Must be able to perform complex tasks requiring independent knowledge and its application to non-routine situations. Frequent travel between office locations in USA and Canada.
Work Schedule:
8-hour workdays Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work, as required to meet accounting deadlines.
