Job Description

Senior Corporate Accountant Organization Overview A growing financial services holding company is seeking a Senior Corporate Accountant to support its expanding portfolio of insurance‑related businesses. The organization provides centralized accounting, actuarial, and asset management services and supports investment strategy development, financing activities, acquisitions, and capital and liability modeling across its subsidiaries. Product offerings include life insurance, annuities, and supplemental health solutions with significant annual premium volume. Position Summary The Senior Corporate Accountant will support monthly and quarterly financial close activities, including the preparation of financial schedules and account reconciliations. This role is responsible for preparing journal entries, reviewing general ledger activity, managing intercompany transactions, and assisting with financial reporting processes. The position works cross‑functionally with internal teams and reports directly to the Controller. Key Responsibilities Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation. Review and reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank and balance sheet reconciliations. Generate management reports using data extracted from the general ledger system. Support monthly and quarterly accruals and assist with annual GAAP consolidation activities. Process electronic fund transfers and perform other ad‑hoc accounting tasks as needed. Contribute to special projects and provide general accounting support across the organization. Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. 3-5 years of experience in financial accounting or reporting roles. Prior experience within insurance or financial services environments preferred. Skills & Competencies Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general technical accounting skills. Solid working knowledge of MS Office applications. Highly detail‑oriented with strong analytical capabilities. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion. Comfortable working independently while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
