POSITION SUMMARY
Ventura Holdings Group (VHG) is a diversified family-owned holding company with operating businesses across building materials, hospitality, real estate, home décor, recycling, and digital commerce. The Senior Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and multi-entity accounting activities across Ventura Holdings Group and its affiliated companies. This role serves as a key member of the finance team, ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting budgeting and forecasting initiatives, maintaining strong internal controls, and providing financial insights to leadership. The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting professional with strong technical accounting skills, experience in a family multi-entity environments, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Reporting & Accounting Operations Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes across multiple entities. Prepare and review financial statements and management reporting packages. Support consolidated financial reporting for affiliated companies. Maintain accuracy of the general ledger and ensure proper account classifications. Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules. Ensure financial records are complete, accurate, and maintained in accordance with company policies. Multi-Entity Accounting Support accounting operations for multiple operating companies and business units. Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations. Ensure consistent accounting practices and reporting standards across entities. Assist with onboarding new entities, acquisitions, and integration projects as needed. Compliance & Internal Controls Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable accounting standards. Support external audits, financial reviews, and tax-related requests. Coordinate with outside accountants, auditors, tax professionals, and other advisors. Maintain and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Assist with sales tax, property tax, business licenses, and regulatory filings. Budgeting & Financial Analysis Assist leadership with annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes. Prepare budget-to-actual analyses and variance reports. Monitor key financial metrics and identify trends impacting performance. Support cash flow reporting and working capital analysis. Provide financial data and reporting to support operational decision-making. Process Improvement Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting efficiency, and data accuracy. Assist with system enhancements, ERP implementations, and reporting improvements. Support special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned. Contribute to the development of scalable financial processes that support company growth.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience. Strong understanding of financial reporting, general ledger accounting, and month-end close processes. Experience working in multi-entity, multi-location, or diversified business environments. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks Enterprise and accounting software. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. Preferred 7-10 years of accounting experience. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA designation or CPA-track candidate preferred. Experience with QuickBooks Enterprise, ERP systems, and financial reporting tools. Experience in family-owned businesses, construction supply, retail, hospitality, real estate, or multi-company organizations. Experience supporting audits, financial consolidations, and intercompany accounting.
