Job Description

Pelican Isle Yacht Club A Member-owned private Club in North Naples with approximately 420 Memberships, 190 Boat Slips, a beautiful campus with rich amenities, brand new Marina, and an active "on-the-water" lifestyle. The Club is comprised of Members and Employees who are proud of our friendly and inclusive atmosphere, professional organization, and beautiful location. PIYC is recognized by Club Leader's Forum as the #7 Yacht Club in America on the Platinum Clubs List and on the top 50 Platinum Clubs of the World. The PIYC Club Accountant serves as first line of contact in the Accounting Department for Members, vendors, and staff providing a high level of pleasant, timely assistance and information in all areas of accounting. The Club Accountant is responsible for accounts payable and accounts receivable for the Club and works as part of a team that is responsible for producing timely and accurate Member statements, vendor payments, and Club financials. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Primary duties include, but are not limited to: Accounts Receivable
  • Manage the full-cycle accounts receivable function, including member billing, collections, and cash application (checks, online Elavon and ACH payments)
  • Primary point of contact for all Member billing questions and adjustment requests
  • Prepare and distribute monthly Member statements
  • Review the monthly A/R Aging report and facilitate the collection process
  • Reconcile and post daily POS activity; distribute daily and monthly reports Accounts Payable
  • Manage the end-to-end invoice workflow, ensuring all invoices are properly coded, approved, and recorded accurately and timely in the appropriate accounting period
  • Collect and maintain W-9 forms, certificates of insurance and contracts/leases for new and current vendors as applicable
  • Process, scan, distribute and file vendor payments
  • Reconcile A/P Aging and monthly vendor statements
  • Organize, print and mail the annual 1099 and 1096 forms Additional Duties
  • Collect and distribute the mail daily
  • Provide daily backup support for phone coverage; be familiar with "Today at the Club", "Week at a Glance" and Master Calendar for quality assistance
  • Monitor and order office supplies as needed or as requested by staff members
  • Assist with Ship's Store inventory processing and quarterly inventory counts
  • Compile and publish routine reports Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with professional phone and email etiquette
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and maintain positive relationships with Members and team members
  • Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of Management, Staff, and Member information
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office/Google tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, and Sheets)
  • Proficient with Club-specific platforms such as Jonas Club Management
  • Ability to work independently, remain on task, and seek guidance as needed
  • Comfortable balancing duties to meet deadlines by prioritizing daily, monthly, and annual tasks
  • Stay current and follow-up on Slack, email, voicemail, and mail communication systems
  • Willing to work overtime to meet deadlines or attend events as necessary The Ideal Candidate Will Possess the Following Qualifications
  • Has 2-3 years of experience in Private Club, resort hospitality, or accounting
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter, well organized, detail oriented, and flexible
  • Enjoy working with a team and have strong interpersonal skills
