Be part of a team that plays a vital role in the oversight in administration of multiple federal and state grant programs awarded to Collier County. Our Grant Accountants primarily assist County divisions to interpret and comply with administrative grant rules, internal policies and controls to achieve compliant Single Audit results. Demands the ability to take initiative, operate independently as well as be a member of a team, exercise judgment to seek supervision and/or input from others when necessary, and be able to thrive in a multi-tasking environment. Demands technology proficiency in usage of electronic financial and file systems, pivot tables in Microsoft Excel. One should demonstrate competencies in excellent interpersonal skills with strong orientation toward diplomacy, tact, compassion, collaboration, and teamwork. One should be organized, detail-oriented and accurate. Prepares written communications with clearly organized thoughts, translating grantor requirements into business language; shares acquired information or knowledge; discusses alternatives; and addresses problem/conflict situations. Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field required. One (1) year of related experience preferred. Candidates without a related degree should possess four (4) years of related experience. Fingerprinting required. Salary offers above the minimum pay grade may be considered based on qualifications. Essential Employees may be required to work during an undeclared or declared emergency. The County's Administrative Office will determine who will be required to work on an incident-by-incident basis.
