Job Description
Ocala Breeders' Sales Is seeking a staff accountant to join our team! This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting day-to-day accounting operations of an equine auction company. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
- Prepare and post journal entries for accurate financial reporting
- Work with other departments to gather financial data and resolve discrepancies
- Assist with audits by providing documentation
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Assist with processing credit requests for potential horse buyers Ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (5+ years accounting experience may substitute)
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Prior experience in an accounting or finance role, within the Thoroughbred industry a plus Compensation for this role is competitive and based on experience.
