Job Description

Ocala Breeders' Sales Is seeking a staff accountant to join our team! This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting day-to-day accounting operations of an equine auction company. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
  • Prepare and post journal entries for accurate financial reporting
  • Work with other departments to gather financial data and resolve discrepancies
  • Assist with audits by providing documentation
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
  • Assist with processing credit requests for potential horse buyers Ideal candidate will have:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (5+ years accounting experience may substitute)
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Prior experience in an accounting or finance role, within the Thoroughbred industry a plus Compensation for this role is competitive and based on experience.
