In this vital role, you will manage and oversee the accounting functions specific to Part 135 operations, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and industry standards. Your expertise will support accurate financial reporting, regulatory filings, and internal controls, contributing to the safe and efficient operation of our aviation services. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional passionate about aviation finance and accounting excellence. Duties Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, aligned with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and industry standards. Manage general ledger accounting processes using accounting software such as QuickBooks, ADP, Zoho Expenses to ensure accurate record-keeping. Conduct account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations and account analysis, to verify data integrity across all financial systems. Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections in compliance with company policies. Perform detailed financial report writing and interpretation to support management decision-making and regulatory reporting requirements. Ensure compliance with federal aviation regulations related to financial reporting for Part 135 operations. Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial management activities to optimize operational efficiency. Maintain meticulous records of journal entries, accruals, and other technical accounting transactions related to aviation operations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial concepts such as securities law compliance, governmental accounting standards, and non-profit accounting if applicable. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred. Proven experience in corporate accounting within the aviation industry or similar regulated sectors such as government or non-profit organizations. Strong knowledge of
GAAP, SOX
compliance requirements, and technical accounting principles including debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and accrual accounting. Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, MySky, Zoho, Xero or similar platforms; advanced MS Excel skills are essential. Familiarity with financial concepts including balance sheet reconciliation, bank reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable management, and financial analysis. Experience with regulatory reporting standards relevant to aviation operations under Part 135 is highly desirable. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately. Strong attention to detail combined with effective communication skills for clear financial report writing and presentation.
