Job Description

Accounting Faculty - 107550 University of West Florida Positiondescription Applications are invited for one full-time tenure track Assistant Professor of Accounting, position number 107550 . The position is available with an August, 2027 start date, dependent upon university funding. Primary teachingduties will be undergraduate and graduate courses in Accounting (face-to-face and online), especially courses associated with IntermediateFinancial Accounting I, Intermediate Financial Accounting II and Advanced Financial Accounting classes, and other Accounting-related coursesto adequately provide a good foundation in Accounting and to prepare students for other classes within the department and the College ofBusiness. The University of West Florida, located in Pensacola, Florida, primarily emphasizes quality teaching. In addition, facultymembers are expected to publish in quality refereed journals, maintain AACSB academic qualifications, perform career and academiccounseling, and serve on departmental, college, and university committees. A normal teaching load is three courses per semester. Thisposition may require teaching at the nearby Fort Walton Beach campus of the university (approximately 50 miles east of the Pensacolacampus). Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Minimum Qualifications Doctoral degreefrom an AACSB-accredited institution in Accounting or a closely related field, including at least 18 graduate semester hours in Accountingand a strong commitment to teaching, academic research, and service. Pertinent work experience, continuing professionaldevelopment, and an active research agenda to maintain qualifications for performing teaching assignments. Relevant teachingexperience, including proven effectiveness in online course development and teaching. Evidence of potential for qualityscholarship, including publication in qualifying academic journals. Documented experience teaching Intermediate FinancialAccounting I, Intermediate Financial Accounting II, and Advanced Financial Accounting. Demonstrated excellence in teaching assupported by one or more teaching awards. Employee must retain scholarly academic qualifications. PreferredQualifications Regardless of degree, it must be coupled with pertinent work experience, continuing professionaldevelopment, and a robust research agenda. Coursework or work experience in Financial Accounting topics are desirable. Documented experience teaching Intermediate Financial Accounting I, Intermediate Financial Accounting II, and Advanced FinancialAccounting. Demonstrated excellence in teaching as supported by one or more teaching awards.
