Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee complex accounting functions, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and contribute to the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting. Your expertise will support strategic decision-making through detailed financial analysis and effective management of accounting processes. Responsibilities Manage general ledger accounting activities, including account reconciliation, journal entries, and month-end closing procedures. Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards). Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections. Conduct balance sheet reconciliation to verify accuracy of financial data across various accounts. Support regulatory reporting requirements for government agencies and non-profit organizations. Perform detailed financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for process improvements. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial management activities to support organizational goals. Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and internal audit standards. Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Netsuite or similar platforms to streamline operations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on technical accounting issues related to payroll, cash management, and financial concepts. Responsible for end of month close. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred. Extensive experience in public accounting or corporate accounting environments with a focus on governmental or non-profit sectors. Strong knowledge of
GAAP, IFRS, SOX
compliance, and regulatory reporting standards. Proven expertise in account reconciliation, balance sheet management, and general ledger accounting. Proficiency with financial software such as NetSuite, Sage, Xero, Candidates must possess strong proficiency in NetSuite; experience with financial analysis tools is a plus. Solid understanding of double entry bookkeeping principles and debits & credits management. Excellent analytical skills combined with strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate findings clearly through written reports. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
