In this vital role, you will oversee all financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring accurate accounting, cost management, and compliance with industry standards. Your expertise will help drive project profitability and support strategic decision-making through precise financial reporting and analysis. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale construction initiatives while sharpening your skills in corporate accounting and financial software. Duties Manage all aspects of project accounting, including tracking costs, revenues, and budgets for multiple construction projects. Perform detailed account reconciliation, balance sheet review, and general ledger accounting using ERP systems such as SAP or Sage. Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections aligned with project timelines. Conduct cash flow analysis and forecasting to support project funding and financial planning efforts. Prepare comprehensive financial reports, including variance analysis, cost reports, and project profitability statements in compliance with GAAP standards. Ensure adherence to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls for financial reporting accuracy and internal audit requirements. Collaborate with project managers to interpret financial data, assist with budgeting, and provide insights on cost management strategies. Utilize accounting software like QuickBooks, Xero, or ERP systems to streamline data collection, account analysis, and general ledger reconciliation. Support technical accounting functions such as account reconciliation, journal entries (debits & credits), and financial report writing. Assist with payroll processing related to project labor costs and ensure compliance with applicable regulations. Experience Proven experience in construction or corporate accounting roles with a focus on financial report interpretation and cost management. Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), SOX compliance, and financial concepts relevant to the construction industry. Hands-on experience working with accounting software such as SAP, QuickBooks, Sage, Xero or similar ERP systems. Familiarity with public accounting standards is a plus. Demonstrated ability in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and account reconciliation processes. Experience in technical accounting tasks including double entry bookkeeping, account analysis, balance sheet reconciliation, and financial statement preparation. Excellent analytical skills combined with the ability to interpret complex financial data for strategic decision-making. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
