This is not just a supervisory role
  • you'll be rolling up your sleeves daily to ensure accurate financials while mentoring junior staff.
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable preparing complex journal entries as they are analyzing financial trends. Key Responsibilities Daily Accounting Operations (Hands-On Work): Personally prepare and post complex journal entries, accruals, and adjustments Take ownership of the month-end close process
  • you'll be preparing reconciliations, not just reviewing them Process payroll (including tax filings) when needed
  • we all pitch in during busy periods Dive into AP/AR issues directly when complex problems arise Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation calculations Identify process inefficiencies and implement improvements hands-on Prepare financial statements from start to finish, not just review them Prepare sales/use tax filings yourself when needed Personally gather documentation for audits rather than just coordinating Research accounting issues and implement solutions directly Must-Have Qualifications 8+ years of progressive accounting experience where you've done the work yourself Expert-level Excel skills•you regularly build complex spreadsheets from scratch Full-cycle accounting knowledge•you understand how transactions flow through the entire system Detail-oriented but efficient•you catch errors while maintaining productivity Problem-solving mindset•when you see an issue, you fix it yourself Experience with QuickBooks Desktop (we use this daily) Nice-to-Have Qualifications Manufacturing or distribution industry experience Exposure to cost accounting Multi-entity accounting experience Why Join Us?
