Job Description

Career Strategy Consultants is seeking a Senior Accountant for a growing manufacturing client near Largo, FL. This individual will be responsible for supporting financial reporting, month-end close activities, and operational accounting processes. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and providing financial insights that support both finance and operations teams. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical capabilities, attention to detail, and experience working in a dynamic accounting environment, preferably within manufacturing. Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Month-End Close Lead and coordinate month-end close activities , including accruals, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. Prepare monthly management reports and perform variance analysis to support business decision-making. Ensure financial reporting is compliant with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) . Maintain and improve accounting policies and internal procedures. Operational Accounting Analyze inventory balances and trends , partnering with operations to identify excess or obsolete inventory. Manage accounts receivable aging , investigate discrepancies, and assist in resolving customer account issues. Perform bank reconciliations and monitor daily cash activity. Maintain and track fixed assets and capital projects , including depreciation schedules. Financial Analysis & Support Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives. Support special financial agreements with key customers or vendors. Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within accounting operations. Assist with day-to-day accounting department functions as needed. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred. Experience 2-5+ years of accounting experience . Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred . Technical Skills Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards . Experience working with ERP systems (SAP Business One preferred). Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite . Core Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent organizational and time management abilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Work Environment Office-based position located in Largo, Florida . Collaborative environment supporting finance, operations, and leadership teams.
