Compensation:
$25-$50 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications Position Overview One Mile Productions LLC is seeking an experienced Part-Time Accountant / Bookkeeper to oversee the company's day-to-day financial operations. This position will work directly with the Founder and CEO to maintain accurate financial records, manage cash flow, support contractor payments, and provide timely financial reporting. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, trustworthy, and experienced supporting small businesses, entrepreneurs, media companies, or professional service firms. Responsibilities Accounting & Bookkeeping Maintain company books using QuickBooks Online or similar software Record and categorize all business transactions Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and payment platforms Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts Ensure accuracy and completeness of all financial records Accounts Payable & Receivable Process vendor invoices and payments Manage contractor payments and documentation Track incoming receivables Monitor overdue invoices and assist with collections Financial Reporting Prepare monthly: Profit & Loss Statements Balance Sheets Cash Flow Reports Provide management reports and financial summaries Assist leadership with budgeting and financial planning Contractor & Compliance Administration Maintain records for 1099 contractors Prepare information for year-end 1099 reporting Coordinate with external CPA for tax filings Ensure compliance with accounting and recordkeeping requirements Cash Management Monitor company cash position Forecast near-term cash requirements Track project and production expenses Identify unusual expenditures or accounting discrepancies Administrative Support Assist with accounting-related vendor relationships Maintain organized digital financial records Support audits, financing requests, and due diligence activities if needed Qualifications Required 5+ years bookkeeping or accounting experience Strong QuickBooks Online experience Excellent knowledge of small business accounting Experience preparing monthly financial statements Proficiency with Microsoft Excel Exceptional attention to detail Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Preferred Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field CPA, EA, or Accounting certification (not required) Experience with media production, entertainment, publishing, or professional services companies Experience managing multi-entity accounting structures Familiarity with intellectual property, royalties, or project-based accounting Personal Characteristics The successful candidate will be: Honest and trustworthy Highly organized Responsive and dependable Comfortable working directly with a business owner Able to maintain strict confidentiality Proactive in identifying financial issues before they become problems Expected Time Commitment Approximately 10-20 hours per week Flexible schedule Additional hours may be required during month-end, year-end, or major business initiatives Compensation Competitive hourly rate based on experience Flexible work arrangement Opportunity for long-term growth with a developing media and production company What I would personally look for For your situation, I would prioritize: QuickBooks Online expertise Experience with small entrepreneurial businesses Experience managing 1099 contractors Ability to prepare clean monthly financial statements Someone who can work independently without requiring constant oversight
