Job Description

The Senior Accountant is responsible for leading complex accounting functions ensuring strict adherence to GAAP and all regulatory standards while delivering accurate and timely financial reporting. This position is responsible for managing general ledger operations, preparing comprehensive financial statement analysis, supporting audit processes and partnering with cross-functional teams to enable business growth in a fast-paced environment. This position works under tight deadlines and ensures all work is accurate, timely and handled in accordance with all company policies and procedures and state and federal guidelines. This is a full time hybrid position with a 9am-5pm schedule (flexible).
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
General Accounting and Close:
Prepare journal entries related to revenue, cost of sales, prepaids, accruals, and fixed assets Support month-end close, including accruals, amortizations, and variance analysis Maintain account reconciliations (cash, prepaid expenses, accruals, and other balance sheet accounts). Perform ad hoc financial reporting and analysis as needed Proactively initiate cross-training within department and serve as a back-up for other functions in the department to ensure proper coverage.
Compliance and Process Improvement:
Support internal/external audit requests; maintain strong internal control environment and GAAP compliance. Ensure compliance with tax reporting and other regulatory requirements. Build, document, and continuously improve scalable accounting processes and workflows; contribute to system initiatives and automation.
Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Tax:
Review AP/vendor bills for accuracy and proper allocation; approve employee expense reports with correct GL coding. Analyze AP and AR aging, flag items for follow-up, and assist with credit/debit memos and customer refunds. Assist with sales/use tax filings and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. M&A Integration Assist with onboarding acquired entities into the ERP, aligning accounting processes, reporting structures, and bank accounts. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate processes and drive consistency across the organization. Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or related field. A minimum of three years related experience. Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls and audit support. Proficient in Excel and ERP system experience. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations CPA or CPA track preferred
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, decimals, fractions, hours & minutes, and possess the ability to compute rates and percentages. Must be able to maintain 99% numeric keystroke accuracy. Must be Proficient in multiple software programs, including, but not limited to, Great Plains, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and the Internet. Ability to follow instructions and respond to managements' directions accurately. Must be able to demonstrate a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information. Looks for ways to improve and promote quality and monitors own work to ensure quality is met. Ability to collect and research data and analyze complex or diverse information. Must demonstrate exceptional communication skills by conveying necessary information accurately, listening effectively and asking questions where clarification is needed. Must be able to work independently, prioritize work activities and use time efficiently. Must be able to maintain confidentiality. Must be able to stay focused and concentrate under normal or heavy distractions. Must be able to work well under pressure and or strict deadlines. Must be able to demonstrate and promote a positive team-oriented environment. Must possess the ability to manage and direct change, delays, or unexpected events appropriately. Ability to follow all company policies and procedures in effect at time of hire and as they may change or be added from time to time.
