Job Description

Job Summary - Senior Cost Accountant The Senior Cost Accountant is responsible for managing and maintaining the cost accounting system, incorporating an understanding of manufacturing operations and generally accepted accounting practices. This role is responsible for inventory accounts, COGS accounts related to manufacturing, and allocation of labor to design, manufacturing, and field services. This position will take direction with general supervision from the CFO and requires interaction with all levels of the organization. Responsibilities
  • Reviews and posts daily/weekly/monthly cost accounting entries.
  • Manage accounts payable process and manage AP data entry position.
  • Reviews cost and variance trends; researching significant variations and recommending appropriate response.
  • Prepares operating performance reports; including inventory movements, sales, and cost of goods sold, to identify significant issues in a timely fashion.
  • Reviews new BOMs and Routers submitted for accuracy.
  • Performs monthly inventory valuation and reconciliation of cost ledgers.
  • Performs monthly labor reconciliation of labor cost ledgers.
  • Potential management of direct cost payroll.
  • Performs data analysis using reporting tools as required to perform job duties or as requested by management staff.
  • Prepares and monitors operating forecasts based on budgets. Review significant variations and analyze operating impact.
  • Performs annual cost roll and inventory valuation. Works with purchasing and operations management to enhance accuracy of cost components.
  • Works with CFO on Financial Statements and other reports.
  • Assists other employees with information and/or analysis when requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Experience/Education/Qualifications Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • 10+ years supporting a manufacturing business.
  • Intermediate or higher proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Intermediate or higher proficiency with QuickBooks Enterprise or higher accounting software
Desired:
  • 7+ years of Cost accounting
  • 7+ years using ERP systems.
  • Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks Enterprise, Microsoft Office, specifically Excel As a valued team member, you will enjoy:

Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
From $34 to $40 per hour based on experience.
