Accounting Reports to:Controller Overview:
Perform daily accounting functions as well as month-end and quarter-end close. Learn the full cycle of accounting operations for an SEC public company. You will be performing day-to-day corporate accounting tasks but also gain experience in working with other departments within the bank, auditors, and third-party servicers.Essential Duties:
Book various accounting journal entries on the GL system Prepare daily and monthly reconciliations Prepare wire forms for brokered borrowings/mortgage remittances/etc. Prepare summary reports for Management Prepare and compile various documents and files for Management and Board meetings or External Auditors Prepare weekly and monthly submissions to the FRB Research and learn more complex areas of accounting related to banking and internal controls Find ways to improve current accounting procedures and tasks to gain efficiency Ad-Hoc projects and tasks to help theSenior Accountants, Assistant Controller, and Controller Education/Additional Training or Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or other Business-related areas CPA License (or working towards it) preferred but not requiredKnowledge/Experience/Skillset:
Basic accounting knowledge and 0-3 years of experience.
