What You'll Do As a Senior Tax Accountant, you will lead complex accounting and tax engagements, ensuring the quality and accuracy of all deliverables. You will play a key role in building and maintaining strong client relationships while serving as a trusted resource on technical accounting and tax matters. In this role, you will also mentor and support members of the accounting team, helping to uphold firm standards, improve processes, and contribute to broader leadership initiatives. This is an opportunity to take on a high-impact role with visibility across both client work and internal operations. Advanced Accounting & Tax Prepare complex individual and business tax returns, including multi-state compliance. Identify and apply appropriate book-to-tax adjustments, leveraging critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Lead tax research efforts and apply guidance to client-specific scenarios. Support advanced tax planning and advisory engagements. Client Leadership Serve as a trusted advisor and escalation point for clients. Proactively identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Communicate complex accounting and tax matters in a clear, client-friendly manner. Team Leadership & Quality Control Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to team members. Ensure deliverables meet firm standards, policies, and deadlines. Support onboarding and training of new hires. Process Improvement Identify and implement improvements to accounting and tax workflows. Contribute to documentation, standardization, and best practices. Support firm leadership with special projects and strategic initiatives. What You'll Bring Education Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. Master's in Tax or an MBA with a tax concentration preferred. Experience 5+ years of combined public accounting and tax experience. Certifications Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required. Technical Skills Strong technical knowledge of accounting and tax principles. Advanced proficiency with accounting and tax software; experience with the CCH Axcess suite strongly preferred. Core Competencies Demonstrated leadership ability with experience mentoring and developing team members. Strong analytical thinking and sound professional judgment. High level of ownership, accountability, and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and team members.
