Full Job Description Job Summary:
This position will fill a key role within the finance group. The position will support various aspects of finance and accounting for the company. The successful candidate will be  Effective and experienced in the general accounting and payroll functions.  The position requires solid accounting and payroll experience combined with strong analytical skills.  The candidate will fit well in an environment that rewards bright, self-starting, energetic, focused individuals with ever-increasing responsibility and challenge.  The candidate will need to possess strong problem-solving skills, reasoning skills, work ethic, organizational skills, attention to detail, and decision-making skills.  The candidate will have the ability to work with others and possess the skills required to complete accounting analysis.  This position will support various aspects of the financial cycle, including payroll processing and reconciliations, but not limited to working with internal department employees, including leadership and assisting in various audits and monitoring various metrics of the business to aid in daily operational decisions.  This position also requires general accounting responsibilities, including payroll processing and reconciliations, journal entries, intercompany transactions, account reconciliations, and accruals.  A key component of this role includes analytical analysis of accounting information that provides a basis for internal audit review of general ledger and payroll activities.
Responsibilities:
 Report, verify, reconcile, and import biweekly and special payroll processing.  Process fixed and general journal entries for three entities.  Reconcile monthly general ledger accounts directly associated with payroll and other general ledger activities.  Reconcile Quarterly and Annual payroll tax returns.  Assist in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring transactions are under GAAP and GASB pronouncements and guidelines.  Assist with making sure that internal policies and procedures are followed and communicate exceptions to department management.  Work as a team member with other staff members in standardizing practices and procedures 
Discrepancy Resolution:
ability to research and resolve discrepancies.
Qualifications:
 Graduate from an accredited college with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance.  Two years of experience in a corporate accounting setting.  Two years of experience processing payroll, taxability of benefits, and reconciliation of payroll-related functions, ensuring accuracy of financial statement reporting.  Any equivalent combination of experience and training provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities considered.  Demonstrated skills and experience in managing goals through collaboration and teamwork.  Required interpersonal, solid, oral, and written communication skills since often communicating to non-accountant professionals accounting information.  Strong Microsoft Excel skills required.  Excellent mathematical and computational skills  Ability to apply problem-solving solid techniques  Experienced and skilled in reconciliations  A valid Georgia driver's license with a clean driving record
Physical Requirements:
Occasional bending, stooping, crouching, climbing, or balancing Ability to lift to waist level, pull, and push up to 40 pounds. Use hands for simple grasping, writing, drawing, and operating office equipment.
