Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join our corporate accounting team and support our continued growth. This role supports all companies under the McKinley umbrella, including our homebuilding, land banking, and rental portfolios.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable and receivable, and bank reconciliations. Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports. Analyze general ledger accounts, investigate discrepancies, and ensure the accuracy of financial data. Support the budgeting and forecasting processes by providing relevant financial data and analysis. Ensure compliance with established internal controls, accounting policies, and
U.S. GAAP
Assist with tax filings and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Collaborate with property managers and cross-functional teams to support accurate and timely financial reporting. Respond to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders regarding financial information. Support audit processes and work with external auditors as required. Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting and minimum 2 years of relevant experience; construction industry and Sage Intacct experience a plus. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment, working both independently and collaboratively.
