Role Overview Mitsubishi Power Americas is hiring an Accounting Intern to support the Orlando Service Center accounting staff in maintaining, analyzing, and reporting key performance measures to the business unit management. This internship position is limited to 28 hours per week during the school year and is designed for candidates who will be enrolled in classes concurrent to their work experience. General Accounting:
Assist in monthly and annual closings, Analyze Financial Statements, Monthly Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations, Create/Post monthly Journal Entries, Support internal and external audit requests.
Cost Accounting:
Assist in reviewing work order results, Labor hour and rate analysis, Monitor Inventory balances and reporting, Perform other such duties as may be required. Develop capital equipment justifications for machine tools and process technology to improve quality, cost, and cycle times. Support any M&A / Asset Purchases as assigned. Present results of all responsibilities to Management through KPI's. This role is fully onsite. Max hours 28 hours per week while taking classes. During breaks, intern can work a fulltime schedule.
Requirements Education:
Must be actively enrolled in a four-year college or university, pursuing a Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Accounting or Finance with a graduation date of May 2027 or later.
Communication:
Strong ability to read, analyze, and interpret business and technical documents; write professional reports and manuals; and present information effectively to various audiences.
Quantitative/Reasoning:
Proficiency in basic algebra and geometry, with the ability to calculate figures (e.g., percentages, interest) and solve practical problems based on written or oral instructions.
Technical Skills:
Experience with ERP systems and standard office software, including accounting, database, project management, spreadsheet, word processing, and email applications.
