Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Staff Accountant position located in the Atlanta Metropolitan Area. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts, and supporting month-end and year-end closing processes. The role also entails bookkeeping, processing invoices, handling payroll, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The Staff Accountant will collaborate with internal teams to provide insights that support financial decision-making.
Salary range:
from $70,000 - $90,000 per year. This is an in-office position, 5 days onsite required. Summary Of Job Duties Contributes to the preparation of internal financial statements for period, quarterly and annual closings in accordance with GAAP, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
Monthly Results:
a. Prepares and uploads the monthly net activity for assigned operating companies b. Reviews for accuracy and completeness c. Ensures data in Adaptive Planning reporting system agrees to accounting system Reconciles G/L accounts monthly. Research and resolve any variances identified. Reviews Peer reconciliations. Review intercompany billing to ensure accuracy. Reviews open A/R and A/P balances with the OpCos. Send out monthly communication of open month end balances. Collaborate with Tax and Treasury departments to obtain necessary information for recording GL transactions Reviews daily AP transactions and peer reviews monthly reconciliations; Reviews and approves all new vendor set ups and vendor bank account details for ACH payments. Prepare, review, and report on capital expenditure forecasts for companies. Review and report on additions, retirements and transfers of fixed assets. Reviews monthly Expenditures by department to ensure completeness and appropriate GL coding.. Ensures expenses from Concur are appropriately recorded, reconciles Concur to NetSuite Accounting system, ensures appropriate cut-off and functions as Support for internal team as well as back-up administrator for Concur. Reconciles concur transactions to statements Assists WAI corporate departments with any requests and address any questions they may have. Prepares audit schedules, and specific consolidated audit and year end schedules. Resolve issues and questions that may arise. Assist as needed on special projects such as software upgrades or implementations, new accounting pronouncements, mergers, acquisitions or divestitures. Assists with Report Validation and testing of new project, Updates, systems changes, workflows as requested by Management. Identify procedural improvements within the accounting department as well as intra-departmental. Recommend and implement improvements. Miscellaneous admin, meetings, etc. Basic Skills Knowledge of accepted accounting practices and principles. Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting practices. Knowledge of auditing practices and principles. Knowledge and experience of related computer applications. Ability to interpret complex statistical and financial information. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Specialized Training or Skills Accounting degree
