Job Description

Hawai'i Pacific Health is a not-for-profit health care network with over 70 locations statewide including medical centers, clinics, physicians and other caregivers serving Hawai'i and the Pacific Region with high quality, compassionate care. Its four medical centers - Kapi'olani, Pali Momi, Straub and Wilcox - specialize in innovative programs in women's health, pediatric care, cardiovascular services, cancer care, bone and joint services and more. Hawai'i Pacific Health is recognized nationally for its excellence in patient care and the use of electronic health records to improve quality and patient safety. If an operation's finances are disorganized, it cannot carry out its mission effectively. This is why the Accounting department at Hawai'i Pacific Health is so important. The department tracks revenue and expenditures, relays necessary financial reports and book-entering, maintains ledgers, processes and records revenues and prepares general purpose financial statements. Its oversight and guidance to other internal departments ensures that legal requirements, policies and procedures are all consistently applied to maintain the integrity of Hawai'i Pacific Health's finances. If you are detail-oriented and have a flair for accounts management, you could join the team that upholds our financial and administrative excellence at Hawai'i Pacific Health. As the Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for significant accounting processes and month end closing entries for major operating units. Specifically, you will provide technical oversight and coordinate the work assignments of other Accountants; provide variance analyses on major expense or revenue categories; lead the implementation of control procedures and monitor them to ensure accurate and timely accounting information is being reported; oversee the month-end closing entries for major operating units; and lead special projects as assigned. We are looking for someone meticulous with an appreciation for fiscal integrity and protocol and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai'i's people.
