Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will manage a wide range of accounting and bookkeeping functions, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data. Your expertise will support our organization's financial health by maintaining precise records, reconciling accounts, and assisting with financial reporting. Responsibilities Perform daily bookkeeping tasks including data entry, journal entries, and double-entry bookkeeping to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions. Reconcile general ledger accounts, balance sheets, accounts payable and receivable, and bank statements with meticulous attention to detail. Manage payroll processing using systems such as ADP, Paychex, Kronos, or UltiPro, ensuring timely and accurate employee payments. Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and applicable governmental accounting standards. Support compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls by documenting processes and assisting with internal audits. Utilize various accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, and others to streamline financial operations. Assist with budgeting, tax preparation, account analysis, and financial reporting for internal management or external agencies. Skills Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, GAAP standards, and governmental accounting practices. Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro or similar platforms. Experience with payroll management systems including Paychex and ADP. Knowledge of technical accounting concepts including journal entries, account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, debits & credits. Familiarity with non-profit accounting practices is a plus. Ability to perform detailed data entry with high accuracy using 10 key typing skills. Excellent math skills combined with strong analytical abilities for account analysis and credit assessment. Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments and assist auditors or external agencies as needed.
