Job Description

Job Summary The Senior Accountant is responsible for performing advanced accounting and financial reporting functions, including general ledger management, account reconciliations, financial analysis, month-end and year-end close activities, and support of the Company's accounting operations and compliance requirements. Essential Responsibilities Prepare, review, and post journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger records. Perform month-end and year-end close activities, including reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules. Review and reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts and investigate accounting discrepancies and variances. Prepare financial reports, audit schedules, tax-related documentation, and compliance reporting support. Support payroll, inventory, fixed asset, accounts payable, and accounts receivable accounting activities. Perform bank reconciliations, cash account analysis, and treasury-related accounting support activities. Assist with developing and maintaining accounting procedures, internal controls, and process improvement initiatives. Participate in accounting system improvements, implementation projects, and process documentation activities. Perform annual physical inventory and related reconciliation and variance analysis activities. May provide training, guidance, or work direction to accounting staff as assigned. Qualifications Five (5) or more years of progressively responsible accounting experience preferred. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and internal controls. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Experience with computerized accounting systems; JD Edwards experience preferred. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. CPA certification or progress toward CPA certification preferred.
