Staff Accountant

Description Our client, a mission-driven organization in the nonprofit industry, is seeking a Staff Accountant for a direct-hire opportunity. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about supporting an organization with meaningful community impact. Preference will be given to locally residing candidates. The Staff Accountant will support day-to-day accounting operations, assist with month-end close, prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and help maintain accurate financial records. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a nonprofit environment and bring strong systems knowledge, including Microsoft Dynamics NAV (NAV ERP) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Prepare and post journal entries + Perform bank and account reconciliations + Assist with month-end and year-end close processes + Maintain general ledger accuracy and support financial reporting + Track and reconcile prepaid expenses, accruals, and fixed assets + Support budgeting and audit preparation + Assist with grant tracking and fund accounting activities, if applicable + Ensure compliance with internal policies and nonprofit accounting standards + Use NAV ERP to manage accounting transactions and reporting + Create and maintain spreadsheets, reports, and financial analyses in

Excel Requirements Qualifications:

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field + 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the nonprofit industry + Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV (NAV ERP) preferred + Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs, and reporting functions + Knowledge of general ledger accounting and account reconciliations + Strong attention to detail and organizational skills + Excellent communication and teamwork abilities + Local candidates strongly preferred
