Staff Accountant

Our client, a mission-driven organization in the nonprofit industry, is seeking a Staff Accountant for a direct-hire opportunity. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about supporting an organization with meaningful community impact. Preference will be given to locally residing candidates.

The Staff Accountant will support day-to-day accounting operations, assist with month-end close, prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and help maintain accurate financial records. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a nonprofit environment and bring strong systems knowledge, including Microsoft Dynamics NAV (NAV ERP) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Prepare and post journal entriesPerform bank and account reconciliationsAssist with month-end and year-end close processesMaintain general ledger accuracy and support financial reportingTrack and reconcile prepaid expenses, accruals, and fixed assetsSupport budgeting and audit preparationAssist with grant tracking and fund accounting activities, if applicableEnsure compliance with internal policies and nonprofit accounting standardsUse NAV ERP to manage accounting transactions and reportingCreate and maintain spreadsheets, reports, and financial analyses in Excel
