Deputy Managing Director (F&A) Job Summary
Responsible for cost control, financial planning and performance analysis within a cocoa processing environment in Ghana. The role requires strong knowledge of manfacturing accounting, commodity pricing and regulatory frameworks governed by the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), which oversees cocoa pricing, quality control and market operations in Ghana. Key Responsibilities
Develops and maintains standard costing systems for cocoa products (liquor, butter, cake, powder, chocolate).
Tracks and analyses costs across processing stages (bean intake, roasting, grinding, pressing, packaging)
Conducts variance analysis (materials, labour, overhead) and report inefficiencies
Prepares annual budgets and rolling forecasts aligned with production plans
Models the financial impact of cocoa price fluctuations set by COCOBOD
Prepares monthly management accounts and financial reports
Ensures compliance with IFRS and Ghanaian financial regulations
Supports tax reporting (GRA requirements) and statutory filings
Ensures adherence to internal controls and audit requirements
Prepares financial reports required by COCOBOD or other regulators (Where applicable)
Collaborates with production, procurement and logistics teams Qualification Required & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
Master's degree in Accounting or finance
Professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ICA Ghana) strongly preferred Experience
3 to 7 years of experience in Management Accounting with a strong background in cost Accounting and inventory management Skills & Competencies
Strong analytical and financial modelling skills and proficiency in ERP systems (e.g, SAP, Oracle) and Advance Excel as well as knowledge of commodity markets (Especially cocoa) will be added advantage
Accuracy and timeless of financial of reports and cost per tonne of cocoa processed
Budget vs actual variance performance and inventory accuracy and shrinkage levels as well as contributtion to cost savings and efficiency improvements
