Our experienced team of consultants, designers, project managers, and installers help clients create environments where people can do their best work. Position Overview This is not a position for someone who simply processes transactions and completes assigned tasks. We are looking for an accountant who wants to understand how the business operates, take ownership of results, identify opportunities for improvement, and help drive the success of a growing company. The ideal candidate is proactive, collaborative, curious, and eager to make an impact beyond traditional accounting responsibilities. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for the accounting and financial oversight of one of our business divisions. This role works closely with operational leaders to understand financial performance, improve processes, solve problems, and support better business decisions. In addition to core accounting responsibilities, this person will help identify opportunities to improve efficiency, strengthen controls, and increase profitability. Key Responsibilities Division Financial Ownership Take ownership of the accounting and financial activities for an assigned business division. Develop a strong understanding of the operational drivers behind financial performance. Analyze profitability, expenses, margins, and trends. Investigate variances and identify opportunities for improvement. General Ledger & Month-End Close Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and adjustments. Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. Assist with month-end and year-end close processes to ensure accurate financial reporting. Maintain organized and accurate supporting documentation. Collaboration Build strong working relationships with project managers, department leaders, and operational teams. Use financial information to help the team understand performance and identify opportunities for improvement. Participate in problem-solving discussions and contribute ideas that improve efficiency and profitability within the division. Take initiative to identify issues before they become problems and help drive solutions. Compliance & Accounting Operations Prepare and file sales and use tax returns accurately and on time. Own all business licensing requirements and renewals. Support payroll-related accounting activities and reconciliations. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. 2+ years of accounting experience. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements. Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated initiative and a willingness to take ownership.
Pay:
$70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
