An established and growing Idaho-based real estate development and operating company is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its team. This position offers the opportunity to work directly with ownership and gain hands-on experience in accounting, finance, real estate operations, and business management. We are looking for a motivated accounting professional who is interested in building a long-term career and growing into increased accounting and financial leadership responsibilities over time.
Position Summary:
This position is intended for an individual seeking a long-term career path in accounting and finance. The successful candidate will work directly with ownership and gain exposure to all aspects of the organization's accounting and financial operations. Designed as a developmental role with significant growth potential, this position will begin with day-to-day accounting responsibilities and gradually expand into more advanced accounting, reporting, and financial management functions. As the candidate develops knowledge of the business and demonstrates increasing responsibility, opportunities for advancement into senior accounting and future financial leadership roles will be available. Daily Responsibilities Monitor bank account activity and balances. Enter and code accounting transactions. Maintain accounting spreadsheets and reports. Review invoices, receipts, and supporting documentation. Assist with accounts payable processing. Organize and maintain digital financial records. Respond to accounting and administrative requests from ownership and management. Assist with special projects and operational initiatives. Weekly Responsibilities Assist with bank reconciliations and transaction reviews. Process and track vendor payments. Monitor incoming mail, invoices, and vendor communications. Assist with maintaining accounting records across multiple entities. Support property-related accounting activities. Track recurring payments and account activity. Monthly Responsibilities Assist with month-end close activities. Reconcile bank accounts and credit card accounts. Review and process vendor invoices and payments. Assist with payroll processing and reporting. Track and organize supporting documentation for financial reporting. Assist with loan payment tracking and banking activities. Coordinate with outside accounting, property management, and financial partners as needed. Support preparation of internal financial reports. Administrative & Operations Support Work directly with ownership on day-to-day business needs. Assist with maintaining company records and documentation. Help improve accounting procedures and organizational systems. Support vendor management and operational projects. Maintain confidentiality regarding financial and business information.
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. 3 years of accounting experience. Strong Microsoft Excel skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Professional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
Preferred:
Experience with accounting software and ERP systems. Experience with real estate, property management, construction, or multi-entity accounting. Experience with accounts payable, account reconciliations, payroll support, and financial reporting. Experience with Entrata, Buildium, QuickBooks, or similar accounting platforms. CPA candidate or interest in pursuing additional accounting certifications is a plus. Benefits Paid time off and holidays. Professional development opportunities.
