This role is designed as a development track toward a future Controller position, offering broad exposure across accounting, financial reporting, payroll, and HR support in a collaborative, mid-sized manufacturing environment. This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and provides hands-on experience with both financial and people-related processes—ideal for a motivated professional looking to accelerate into a leadership role. Key Responsibilities Support the monthly close process, including journal entries and account reconciliations Maintain fixed asset records and manage depreciation schedules Process and oversee payroll, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting Assist with sales and use tax filings, property tax reporting, and corporate tax support Contribute to accounts payable and accounts receivable processes Prepare and support monthly financial reporting and analysis Assist with bank compliance and reporting requirements Support HR-related activities, including: Payroll coordination and employee data accuracy Benefits administration support and reporting Assistance with onboarding/offboarding processes Maintaining employee records and compliance documentation Partner with plant operations and collaborate directly with the CFO on financial and operational initiatives Growth & Development Opportunity This role is structured to build the core competencies required for a future Controller role, including: Full-cycle accounting ownership Financial reporting and close leadership Payroll and HR process exposure Exposure to manufacturing operations and cost structures Direct involvement in decision support and financial analysis Ongoing mentorship and coaching from the CFO Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting (CPA or CPA-track strongly preferred) Strong proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office applications Experience with payroll processing, HR coordination, and tax compliance/filing ERP system experience preferred Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Desire to grow into a leadership role within accounting/finance Why Join JB Industries This is an opportunity to gain broad, hands-on experience across both finance and HR functions while working closely with senior leadership.
