Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This vital role is responsible for providing accounting support to accounting supervisors and other managers within the company. Keys daily worksheets to the general ledger system, ensures files are complete and maintained as needed, handles accounts payable duties, and assists accounting personnel. Responsibilities Perform the processing of functional and benefits expense allocations, monthly accruals, amortization of prepaid expenses, fixed assets depreciation and recording of adjusting and reclassification journal entries, if necessary. Manage the processing of cash receipts, recording of revenue and receivable. Review expense coding to ensure proper expensing of costs; tagging all eligible costs including general AP, credit cards, and customer payouts. Review and process Credit Card Expense reports and receipts submitted by cardholders on monthly basis. Prepare monthly Sales & Tax reports. Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, fixed assets, employer's benefit costs, accruals, and prepaid expenses. Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements, budget performance, and interim financial reporting. Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes. Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations. Issue checks for accounts payable. Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers, and other records detailing financial business transactions. Record charges and refunds. Input type vouchers, invoices, checks, account statements, reports, and other records. Provide general customer service both internally and externally. Ensure customers accept payments or refunds. Protects company's value by keeping information confidential. Skills Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or closely related field or 5 years of progressive professional work experience and 3 years of proven accounting experience. Competency in MS Office, databases, and accounting software. Good analytical skills and attention to detail with ability to read and interpret various forms of information. Ability to use good judgment. Ability to work and make decisions independently in a timely manner, making sure job is done correctly the first time. Aptitude for numbers. Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Reliability, accuracy, and attention to detail are essential.
Pay:
$52,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
