Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience. 2 years of experience in finance or treasury, working on cross-functional initiatives. Experience with internal controls and financial reporting processes.
Preferred qualifications:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA). Experience with technical accounting, ASC 606 implementation, and business recognition. Experience managing process improvement initiatives. Experience leveraging SQL and data visualization tools to drive business insights and decision-making. Experience with project management and organizational tasks within a team environment. About the job Google accountants are a savvy bunch who handle the core accounting responsibilities at Google. You know your accounting principles and the full accounting process end to end. You'll advise on financial reports required by governmental regulations, and review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports. Every day is a new challenge, and you're continually looking for ways to help our team become more efficient and effective. A team player at heart, you collaborate with our global team, advocate best practices and pitch in where needed. You move fast while keeping your attention to detail, and you tap into your problem-solving skills to support business objectives. You have a strong knowledge of US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), as well as experience in researching issues and documenting conclusions. Other responsibilities include reconciling balance sheets and P&L accounts, and providing supplementary financial information for internal and external reports. In this role, you will support audits, implement technical accounting standards like ASC 606, and leverage data analytics to unlock business insights. You will collaborate cross-functionally to automate standard processes and focus on financial improvements. Responsibilities Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with changes to existing financial processes. Provide financial records and supporting documentation to auditors and assist with the development of process cycle memorandums. Use data to extract meaningful insights and monitor the performance of different business areas. Implement technical accounting standards, including ASC 606 and business recognition requirements. Lead process innovation projects to automate financial reporting and enhance operational efficiency using emerging technologies.
