Job Description:

We're partnering with our client, a well-established financial services firm in Chicago that is looking to add a high-potential Accountant to their growing finance team. This is a great opportunity for someone with 2-4 years of accounting experienc e who is looking to build strong technical accounting skills and gain well-rounded exposure across general ledger accounting, month-end close, financial reporting, and accounts payable. This role is ideal for someone who wants to continue developing a strong accounting foundation in a fast-paced, collaborative, and detail-oriented environment with strong long-term growth potential. What you'll do: Support month-end close activities including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations Maintain and analyze general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness Assist with financial reporting preparation and internal reporting packages Support accounts payable processes including invoice review, coding, and vendor coordination Assist with audit requests and supporting documentation as needed Partner cross-functionally with finance and operations teams to resolve discrepancies Contribute to process improvements and strengthen accounting workflows and controls What they're looking for: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field CPA required (or actively pursuing with a clear path to completion) 2-4 years of accounting experience, ideally in corporate accounting or public accounting Strong understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles Exposure to month-end close, reconciliations, financial reporting, and/or AP processes Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment Strong communication skills and a collaborative, proactive mindset Why this role: Broad exposure across full-cycle accounting, including AP, close, and reporting Strong foundation-building opportunity for long-term career growth Hands-on experience working closely with experienced finance professionals Reputable financial services environment with strong stability and team culture The Equus Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer and takes pride in maintaining a diverse environment.
