Job Description

Job Summary The mission of the Accountant is to prepare journal entries, maintain balance sheet schedules, ledgers, account, and bank reconciliations. Additional responsibilities may include assisting with monthly closings and account analysis. Job Responsibilities Prepare journal entries. Complete general ledger operations. Monthly closings and preparation of monthly financial statements. Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts. Prepare analysis of accounts as requested. Assist with year-end closings. Assist with preparing budgets and forecasts. Monitor and resolve bank issues including fee anomalies and check differences. Account/bank reconciliations. Assist with preparation and coordination of the audit process. Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures. Education Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; Associate degree in Accounting or related field accepted. Qualifications and Experience Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Knowledge of financial principles and reporting. Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws regarding accounting, finances, and taxation. Technical accounting skills. Previous experience of general accounting. Proficiency in relevant accounting software and tools. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products. Strong organizational and time management skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment This job occasionally operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers. The noise level in the work environment is low. Physical Demands The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential job functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands or arms.
