Job Description

Incentive Compensation Accountant, Accounting and Finance Over the last three years, our accounting team has seen rapid growth, and we are not done growing! With even more development anticipated over the next three to five years, we are adding to our team of dedicated and hardworking individuals. You will be part of a group that is responsible for maintaining, reviewing and analyzing bonus calculations for Doctors and administering a commissions system within the Accounting and Finance department. This team also has a strong presence with providing world class customer service to our supported Doctors and Operations team. Heartland Dental is the nation's largest dental support organization, providing non-clinical administrative support services to more than 3,000 supported doctors across 39 states and the District of Columbia in 1,900+ dental offices. Each Heartland Dental supported office is unique to the community and the patients they serve. Supported doctors are the clinical leaders of their practice, retain full clinical autonomy, and establish their own care philosophies. All Heartland Dental supported doctors are united by a common goal: delivering the highest quality dental care and patient experiences. To give you an idea of the team structure, you will work within the Incentive Compensation Team, reporting to the Incentive Compensation Supervisor. You will also work closely with other team members within the Accounting and Finance team for partnership on supporting the monthly financial statements. Below is an overview of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position: Maintain, review and analyze the calculations of Monthly and Quarterly Bonuses for HD supported Doctors to ensure alignment with contractual agreements Provide support for Doctors and Field Operations to understand and utilize SAP Heartbeat CompView and Workflow; advising on compensation structures and system functionality Partner with sub teams within Accounting and Finance to provide support of the monthly and quarterly financials for all supported offices Support affiliation and de novo offices to ensure proper transition into Heartland; working with multiple dental softwares until a full conversion is made Provide day-to-day customer service to supported offices, including the monitoring of requests/questions Attend routine on-site Education Events to collaborate with Dr's and Field Operations Other projects as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
Completion of one of the following: five years of accounting experience OR associate degree and not less than one year of accounting experience OR Bachelor's degree in accounting Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and Access Strong organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize multiple tasks in a deadline driven environment Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong Customer Service skills Ability to interact with co-workers in a collegial manner to accomplish common tasks High level of maturity, personal initiative and sound judgment
Desirable Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Associates degree in Accounting Experience working within an Accounting department; understanding of compensation, journal entries and financial statements Experience with a commissions system We put our people first at Heartland Dental, and that shows in our generous benefits package.
