Job Description

Position Overview Are you ready to launch your career in the construction industry with Helm? As a Project Accountant, you will be performing accounting duties for the Helm Mechanical Business Unit. The primary task of this position is to provide support to the operations team on projects to ensure all paperwork and processes are followed per the contract terms with respect to billing and the revenue cycle. This role is located in either our Freeport, IL office or our Westmont, IL office . Key Responsibilities Billing jobs in accordance with contract terms, primarily using
AIA G702/703
billing format. Reconciling, tracking, and billing change orders for contracts. Preparation of time and material billings and related activities. Completing and submitting contract paperwork such as lien waivers, affidavits, certified payroll reports, workforce reporting, and contract compliance documents for ourselves and hired subcontractors. Assist project team with job closeout. Collect, review, and process subcontractor monthly project invoices. Monitor subcontractor compliance and determine weekly subcontractors to be paid through accounts payable. Assist project team with monthly job cost projections. Monitor cash flow and communicate with the project team on tracking past due accounts receivable. A "keen eye" for detail and accuracy A knowledge of Microsoft office products, primarily Excel, Word, and Outlook Good organizational skills, and time management skills Good people skills in order to interact with a variety of vendors, customers and employees. Accounting background with emphasis in construction. Ability to work well with others. Accuracy in work performed. Timeliness of work performed. Customer satisfaction. Requirements Associates or higher degree in accounting. Construction industry accounting experience, billing experience preferred.
Salary & Benefits Range:
$60,000 - $75,000 Final determination of a successful candidate's pay is based on job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
