Staff Accountant

Job DescriptionJob Description Staff Accountant The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting daily accounting operations, with a strong focus on tariff analysis, sales reporting, forecasting, and financial reconciliation. This role requires advanced Excel skills, accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, and the ability to manage detailed financial data accurately while ensuring compliance with company procedures and reporting requirements. Requirements of the Staff Accountant Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment Strong experience analyzing and documenting tariff charges, including identifying country of origin and verifying applicable tariff rates Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, data analysis, reporting, and spreadsheet management Experience with Sage Intacct preferred Experience with Martus software is a plus Experience processing payroll using ADP is a plus Strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial reconciliation Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills Proficiency with accounting systems and computer applications Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant Prepare daily sales reports and update sales forecasts using Excel and related reporting tools Analyze supplier invoices to record and document tariff charges accurately Identify country of origin and confirm corresponding tariff classifications and rates Maintain detailed tariff records and support compliance with import-related financial reporting Prepare and submit sales and use tax reports accurately and on time Verify invoices and process payments in a timely and accurate manner Reconcile accounts and investigate discrepancies as needed Resolve purchase order, invoice, and payment discrepancies with vendors and internal teams Code and balance company credit card statements Process payroll accurately using ADP 1st shift, DIRECT HIRE Pay is $62,400 - $72,800 annually, based on experience If you have an open application with Matthews Professional Employment, Inc., please express your interest in this position to your consultant.
