Work as member on the Treasury Unit team which is responsible for benefit payments instructions and cash receipts including: Timely and accurate processing of payment instruction requests received from annuitants, employers and third parties. Timely and accurate processing of cash receipt transactions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Review and enter payment instructions with fluctuating work volume.
Examples of instructions:
direct deposit, withholding tax, insurance and addresses. Process all Treasury Unit related workflows within the Horizon Queues. Monitor and maintain deduction information initial setup and termination for AFSCME, Doyle Rowe, NCPERS, and other deduction organizations. Enter and monitor deductions for conservatorships, guardianships, and other deductions that require coordinating with the Legal Department. Process POAs and other Legal fiduciary documents. Functions include:
Examining documents for acceptability and compliance. Seeking input from Legal staff when appropriate. Creating correspondence when documents are not acceptable. Determining necessity of POA Affidavit. Process cash receipts. Items received include EFTs, checks and wire transfers. IMRF utilizes remote deposit for incoming checks. Provide excellent, high quality customer service to both external and internal contacts. Individual must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently. Initiate reversals, recalls, stop payments, and replacement requests. Monitor returned mail. Serve as liaison between annuitants and third parties responsible for union dues, life insurance and health insurance. Service includes:
Communicating requested information from annuitants and third parties to Employer Services Department, as needed. Serve as liaison, responding to phone calls and emails received from these organizations including but not limited to AFSCME, NCPERS, and Doyle Rowe. Analyze discrepancies to determine corrections and adjustments necessary for deductions and withholding. Process administrative disbursements. Research archives of payments that were not converted to the current system. Monitor incoming fax requests. Monitor death match report investigate any discrepancies noted for active members. Other duties as assigned. Performance Standards Adhere to performance requirements as set forth by established Finance Department Standards. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Mathematical Skills Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Salary and Benefits The expected annual salary range for this role is $53,369-$58,705. Please note the salary information is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. The range listed is just one component of IMRF's total compensation package for employees.
