Senior Advisor, Property Tax Chicago, IL | OnSite Join a rapidly growing renewable energy company where your expertise will directly influence the success of large-scale energy projects across the country. As a Senior Advisor, Property Tax, you'll be a trusted subject matter expert within a high-performing tax team, helping drive strategic tax outcomes that support both company growth and investor objectives. This is an opportunity to move beyond traditional compliance work and play a key role in property tax planning, project development, financial modeling, and stakeholder strategy in one of the fastest-growing sectors of the economy. Based in our downtown Chicago office, you'll collaborate with tax leaders, project developers, legal teams, and top external advisors while gaining exposure to complex, high-value projects that are transforming the energy landscape. Responsibility Lead strategic property tax planning, modeling, and compliance initiatives that directly impact project economics and investment decisions. Serve as the organization's property tax subject matter expert, advising internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. Partner with project development, finance, legal, and tax teams to identify planning opportunities and manage risk. Coordinate with leading law firms, consultants, and advisors across multiple jurisdictions. Represent the company in discussions and negotiations with state and local taxing authorities. Drive process improvements and technology initiatives that enhance efficiency, scalability, and reporting quality. Lead critical projects from concept through execution, managing timelines, stakeholders, and deliverables. Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and assess their impact on current and future projects. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or a related field. 5+ years of multi-state property tax experience. CPA, CMI, JD, or other relevant professional designation. Strong understanding of property tax planning, valuation methodologies, and compliance requirements. Proven ability to independently manage complex projects and competing priorities. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and research capabilities. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax matters to both technical and non-technical audiences. Experience working cross-functionally with legal, finance, operations, and external advisors.
