at Department of Natural Resources in Springfield, Illinois, United States Job Description Position Overview The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is seeking to hire an Accountant for the Office of Mines and Minerals. This position will: work directly with Comptroller staff to resolve financial obligation and payment problems; plan the use of the Accounting Information System ( AIS ) for the Office of Mines and Minerals; prepare and update monthly expenditure analysis reports for the Office and supervisory staff; monitor and reconcile Office attendance and timekeeping records to PAS records. We welcome interested applicants who would like to be part of this team to apply today. Essential Functions Under general direction, reviews financial accounting records for the Office of Mines and Minerals Independently prepares, examines, and analyzes complex statements and reports for the Programmatic Time Report for the Office of Mines and Minerals Analyzes budget needs and writes Federal grant applications for the simplified grant which consists of administrative emergency administrative and emergency construction costs for a period of one year and construction costs for a period of three years Advises staff of proper procedures and rules of the State Statutes Comptroller's Office and CMS prepares or audits contracts Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
